Implementing Workflows, and Document Imaging, as Policies, May Lead to Substantial Reductions in Paper Dependence for Regulated Businesses

In a case study titled Bank Innovates Work Environment, Boosts Performance with Social Collaboration, Microsoft® reports on the ambitious plan of a New Zealand bank, ASB Bank, to use SharePoint 2013 workflows in conjunction with Document Imaging (and what looks to be a formal records management procedure), to reduce paper dependence. As this case study notes, this ambitious plan is targeting a 40% reduction in “paper dependence” (a combination of printing, and document retention policies for hard copies, etc) within three years of its implementation date in the late fall of 2012. The plan also calls for a drastic reduction on demands for physical file storage over the same time period.

Over the last month of posts to this blog, we’ve spent a considerable amount of time reviewing our set on SharePoint 2013: Records Management, which is authored by John Holliday, a widely acknowledged subject matter expert in this area, a JD, and also a well respected trainer.

We’ve also spent a lot of time on a set of video tutorials on SharePoint 2013: Workflow.

Organizations may be able to use these two video tutorial sets, along with SharePoint 2013: Enterprise Forms to build a similar set of procedures to capture comparable efficiencies to those ASB Bank intends to realize from its effort.

These three video tutorial sets are available for unlimited, local, enterprise viewing by an unlimited number of SharePoint users within an organization at a one-time purchase price. The acquisition cost provides a perpetual viewing license. There are no recurring subscription charges. All of the content is provided for local viewing; for example, behind a firewall on an organization’s servers, without a SaaS cloud component. The instructors are each widely acknowledge subject matter experts and published authors on topics directly relevant to their respective video tutorial sets.

Please read the Microsoft success story on New Zealand’s ARB Bank. You can use the link we provide in this post to view the whole case study. If you would like to achieve comparable results and learn more about how our video training content can help your team achieve your objectives, then please contact us. We’ll be happy to discuss your objectives and our training content with you in further detail.
